About this role

The IT SaaS Engineering Team plays a critical role in enabling MongoDB’s post-sales business processes, including Customer Success, Support, Renewals, Services, and account management workflows. By leveraging Salesforce and related business systems, the team ensures that post-sales teams have the tools, automation, security, and governance needed to effectively manage customer relationships, support customer outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and drive long-term customer growth.

With deep expertise in Salesforce development, platform governance, automation, integrations, and system operations, the team continuously enhances the CRM platform to support evolving post-sales business needs. The team partners closely with stakeholders across Customer Success, Technical Services, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Billing, Security, Compliance, and Engineering to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable Salesforce solutions.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Salesforce Engineer to drive the architecture, design, and evolution of critical Salesforce and CRM solutions supporting MongoDB’s post-sales business processes. This role combines deep technical leadership, hands-on solution design, cross-functional stakeholder partnership, people management, and a modern engineering mindset that embraces AI-powered development responsibly to improve productivity, quality, and long-term platform health.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing scalable Salesforce solutions for complex customer lifecycle processes, including customer success operations, support workflows, renewals, account management, customer health, and post-sales automation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable Salesforce solutions supporting post-sales teams, including Customer Success, Support, Renewals, Services, and account management workflows
  • Translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions aligned with long-term platform strategy
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver high-quality post-sales solutions
  • Oversee integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise platforms, ensuring reliable data flow and sound system design across the customer lifecycle
  • Drive platform optimization across performance, scalability, usability, maintainability, and governance
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, documentation, CI/CD, and release management
  • Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and drive long-term, scalable resolutions
  • Maintain technical documentation, including architecture decisions, design specifications, and implementation details
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform capabilities, releases, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements
  • Proactively identify process and technical gaps, and help define and drive tech debt reduction initiatives, platform modernization efforts, and engineering efficiency improvements across the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Leverage AI-powered engineering tools such as Apex Guru, GitHub Copilot, Salesforce Agentforce/Vibes, Claude Code, and similar capabilities to improve development productivity, code quality, design effectiveness, troubleshooting, and documentation, while applying strong judgment around security, privacy, accuracy, and responsible AI usage

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Salesforce development, platform capabilities, automation, integrations, and scalable CRM solution design for post-sales business processes
  • Lead technical design sessions and identify gaps between current-state and future-state solutions
  • Design and support scalable solutions for customer success, support operations, renewals, customer health, account management, and related post-sales workflows
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices, and drive proof-of-concepts where appropriate
  • Mentor engineers across the team and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence
  • Support team growth by coaching, developing talent, and helping build a high-performing engineering organization
  • Influence business and technical stakeholders through strong communication, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving
  • Operate effectively in a fast-changing environment by managing priorities, driving accountability, and ensuring high-quality execution

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in Salesforce engineering, application development, or technical leadership within global SaaS organizations
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, integrations, and Salesforce platform customization
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, design patterns, and scalable solution design
  • Experience designing or supporting Salesforce solutions for post-sales functions such as Customer Success, Support, Renewals, Services, or customer lifecycle management
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and Agile/Scrum delivery models
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification required; Salesforce Certified Application Architect and Salesforce Certified System Architect certifications strongly preferred
