What you’ll do

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Java, and Scala

• Build, develop, test and deploy software infrastructure

• Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design

• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation

• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack

• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

• Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale

• Build new systems to securely store and reliably modify production systems

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in software development.

Position also requires the following:

• 2 years of experience working with Ruby, Java, Scala, or Go

• 2 years of experience implementing industry standard design patterns

• 2 years of experience building full-stack or backend applications at scale

• 2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and distributed systems at scale

• 2 years of experience writing unit tests and performing manual testing of complex software changes

Salary: $190,400 - $285,600/yr.

This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions/sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary.

40 hrs/week

50% Telecommuting Permitted.
